Individual therapy is a collaborative effort between the client and the therapist. Sessions consist of meeting with a trained clinician. In therapy problems and crises are seen as opportunities for growth. Individual therapy provides the client with the supportive safe environment where this growth can take place. Common problem areas addressed in therapy are negative thinking patterns, anxiety, depression, mood dysregulation, family stress, and much more.
Sessions are 60 minutes in length. Clients only are present in session. A therapist will work alongside you to identify areas of growth, teaching skills for coping with life stressors. The first session an initial evaluation will be completed to assess needs in treatment. Then the therapist and you will work together to create goals for treatment and find ways in which to mitigate barriers in reaching these goals.
